Awqaf Abu Dhabi launches The Life Endowment Company

Building on the success of its Life Endowment campaign, which raised more than Dhs900 million from over 200,000 contributors in just four weeks, Awqaf Abu Dhabi has announced the establishment of The Life Endowment Company, a new entity dedicated to managing, growing, and protecting endowment assets to ensure they continue to deliver long-term value for future generations.

The company will strengthen Awqaf Abu Dhabi’s mission to build a pioneering endowment ecosystem that drives meaningful, lasting change in people’s lives, aligning with national priorities for sustainable healthcare and social development.

Aligned with Abu Dhabi’s vision for sustainable healthcare and philanthropy, Awqaf Abu Dhabi and the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) will continue their strategic partnership through The Life Endowment Company.

The company’s formed Board of Trustees will be chaired by Awqaf Abu Dhabi with representatives from DoH and Erth Zayed Philanthropies to enhance governance and guarantee that all funds are managed transparently and directed toward initiatives that deliver the greatest social impact.

As a dedicated platform for sustainable philanthropy, The Life Endowment Company transforms charitable giving into structured, long-term action. Guided by expert investment strategies and transparent governance, it focuses on maximising both financial and social returns, channelling resources toward healthcare programmes that enhance quality of life, widen access to treatment, and strengthen system resilience.

Operating under a rigorous, accountable framework, endowment funds and assets received from contributors will be managed by an Investment Committee to ensure steady, responsible growth. The Disbursement Committee will then direct the generated proceeds to the right beneficiaries and projects, ensuring that every contribution directly supports patients and vulnerable community members.

This integrated model reflects Awqaf Abu Dhabi’s commitment to turning generosity into a self-sustaining force for good, where financial stewardship and human compassion work in harmony.

Launched under the slogan With You for Life, the Life Endowment campaign exceeded its five-year target in less than one-month, uniting public and private contributions to deliver sustainable healthcare solutions for individuals living with chronic diseases.

The campaign channels donations into a dedicated endowment fund, where capital is strategically invested to generate recurring returns. These proceeds are then used to finance treatments, provide essential medicines, and support mental health services for the most vulnerable members of society.

Inspired by the values of generosity and solidarity championed throughout the UAE Year of Community, the initiative reflects the UAE’s commitment to transforming compassion into enduring social impact through innovative, purpose-driven giving models.
