Al Ain Court for Civil, Commercial, and Administrative Cases ordered two men to return Dhs2,900 to a third man and fined them Dhs1,000 as compensation, as they had fraudulently obtained the amount from the victim through an information technology means after deceiving him into believing they could obtain an IELTS certificate for him.
In detail, a man filed a lawsuit against two, requesting them to return the amount of Dhs2,900 that he had transferred to them.
He also demanded that they compensate him for the damage he incurred with an amount of Dhs70,000, as well as pay the court fees and expenses.
The plaintiff stated that the defendants were convicted under a criminal judgment and each was fined Dhs10,000. The court clarified that the defendants had seized the amount from the plaintiff and ordered them to return it.
The court also clarified that the documents of the case showed that the defendants' mistake caused harm to the plaintiff, and therefore, the court estimated the compensation for all damages at Dhs1,000.
