Pak expat launches musical tribute to Sheikh Zayed

Marking the 54th anniversary of the United Arab Emirates, a historic artistic moment has emerged from the region’s multicultural landscape.

For the first time in the history of the UAE, a Pakistani vocalist and longtime resident of Dubai, Sonia Majeed, has released a dedicated musical tribute to the Founding Father of the Nation, late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, a figure whose leadership reshaped the destiny of an entire nation.

The song, appropriately titled “Salam” is not merely a musical piece but a deeply reverent cultural offering.

It reflects the profound admiration held by millions for Sheikh Zayed’s humanitarian spirit, his transformative governance, and his unwavering commitment to unity, generosity, and national progress.

The music was released on a video sharing platform by internationally acclaimed singer Sonia.

The composition brings together the creative craftsmanship of Imrana Majeed (lyrics, concept, and production) and the musical sophistication of Samran Warsi, who directs the arrangement with cinematic grandeur.

Talking to Gulf Today, Sonia said “Salam stands as a symbolic gesture from the Pakistani and broader Asian community — a heartfelt message of gratitude to the UAE, its leadership, and its people. It pays homage to the deep historical ties between the two nations and acknowledges the UAE as a land of opportunity, coexistence, and shared values.”

The song released in conjunction with Eid Al Ittihad echoes themes of hope, loyalty, respect, and remembrance.

It serves as a reminder that Sheikh Zayed’s vision continues to resonate through every generation living under the flag he helped raise in 1971.
