Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Police Academy, attended the graduation ceremony of the Academy’s third cohort of PhD students and seventh cohort of Master’s students.
The ceremony featured the UAE national anthem, Qur’an recitation, and a video highlighting the graduates’ academic journey and the Academy’s research achievements.
Brigadier Dr. Mohammed Khamis Al Othmani, Director of the Academy, expressed gratitude to His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his leadership, and to the Crown Prince for his continuous support.
He said the Academy’s postgraduate programmes follow global academic standards and address practical needs in policing, investigation, quality, risk management, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
Graduate Abdullah Rashid Al Kabouri delivered the student address, thanking the leadership for its support and emphasising that their academic training forms a strong foundation for contributing to national security and institutional development.
The Crown Prince of Sharjah presented certificates to 57 graduates, including 49 Master’s and 8 PhD students, and posed for a commemorative photograph with graduates and the Academy Board.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Mansour Bin Nassar, Chairman of the Legal Department of Sharjah; Major General Abdullah Mubarak Bin Amer, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police and Vice Chairman of the Academy Board; members of the Board; and senior officials.
Recently, Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed chaired the Sharjah Police Academy’s Council meeting at its headquarters in Sharjah.
He affirmed that the Academy is confidently progressing towards developing a comprehensive model in security education and training that integrates quality, innovation, and practical excellence.
Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed praised the Academy’s exceptional staff for their ongoing efforts to improve academic, research, and training programmes that align with the Emirate’s future ambitions and the vision of Sheikh Sultan to cultivate a generation of highly qualified professionals who support the security and stability system.
The Council discussed various development projects and initiatives related to academic and training enhancements, aimed at improving the Academy’s scientific and practical capabilities.
The meeting examined the results of the counter-terrorism training programme conducted in partnership with the French RAID unit, which included advanced techniques in assessment shooting, infiltration and liberation tactics, and crisis management.
The Council also discussed the development of the Virtual Centre for Education and Training, a vital element in the Academy’s digital transformation plan. The academy aims to offer a smart, interactive learning environment that combines virtual and real-world components to enhance educational quality and academic performance.
Members were also briefed on the interactive virtual book project, an innovative educational model that merges theoretical and practical learning through an interactive digital format designed to stimulate student engagement.
The Council reviewed the participation of the Academy’s musical band in the Spasskaya International Festival held in Moscow, where it represented the United Arab Emirates and the Emirate of Sharjah.
The band’s performances demonstrated the UAE’s cultural identity and the professionalism of the Academy’s members, receiving widespread praise from international audiences.
This week, Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed received Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council (SMC), along with the Council members.
He commended the Sharjah Media Council’s efforts to advance the media sector in the emirate in line with the directives and vision of Sheikh Sultan.
