The Abu Dhabi Court for Family, Civil, and Administrative Cases has obligated a woman to pay Dhs10,000 as compensation to another after she contacted her and insulted her, and sent an insulting message via WhatsApp, which caused her material and moral damages.
In the details, a woman filed a lawsuit against another, requesting that she be obligated to compensate her for psychological and material damages, in the amount of Dhs100,000, besides the case fees and expenses.
The plaintiff stated that the defendant contacted her and insulted her, and sent a message via WhatsApp containing abusive words, and as a result, a criminal case was initiated and a judgment was issued.
The court clarified that it is established, in accordance with the provisions of Articles 292 and 293/1 of the Civil Transactions Law, that any harm to another person obligates the perpetrator to compensation, and since the defendant's fault has been proved and has caused moral damages to the complainant, the court has assessed the compensation due to the plaintiff at Dhs10,000.
