Chef Rechna Ramal showcased traditional home-style cuisine at the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF). Known for her comforting dishes inspired by mountain village kitchens, Chef Rachna shared her passion for combining simplicity with rich flavours.
One of the highlights of her session was the Cauliflowers Manchurian – a vibrant Indo-Nepali fusion dish that captured everyone’s attention. Crispy golden cauliflower florets are tossed in a tangy, spicy sauce that provides the perfect balance of crunch and flavour.
Chef Rechna said that the dish, although inspired by Chinese cuisine, has become a beloved staple in Nepali homes, often served during family gatherings and festive occasions.
Her live demonstration celebrated the warmth of Nepal’s culinary heritage – the true taste of home, with love, spices and tradition.
She captured the warmth of a Nepalese kitchen at SIBF – a true taste of home, made with love, spices and storytelling.
She also spoke about her book, The Kitchen Without Borders, which celebrates culinary diversity and the emotional connection between food and culture.
The book features stories and recipes that transcend borders, sharing flavours from Nepal and beyond.
Through her writing, Chef Rechana hopes to inspire readers to see cooking not just as a skill, but also as a bridge between people and traditions.
