The ongoing Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) has been a great opportunity for the visitors of all age groups to find their favourite pick from the hundreds of stalls spread across the many halls at the Expo Centre Sharjah.
Besides books and other printed materials from exhibitors across the globe, scores of visitors found the Oman Post stall with interesting collections of postal stamps and rare coins.
Faris Al Jabri, the exhibitor at Oman Post Stamps and Collectables while talking to Gulf Today said that this is the first time they are participating at the 44th Sharjah International Book Fair 2025.
“Today is the fifth day and we have already received hundreds of visitors who showed keen interest in our collection of postal stamps and coins displayed at the fair.”
The Oman Post stall has been displaying a wide range of postal stamps issued on various national occasions as these stamps are already favourite among the collectors.
“We have a long history of postal stamps and there are thousands of collectable stamps produced so far. At the SIBF, we have limited collections of postal stamps issued since 2023 while coins’ collections included many coins as old as 100-years and available for philatelists to expand their collections of rare coins and stamps,” he added.
He mentioned that the collection at the SIBF included postal stamps, posters and books issued by the Oman Post to commemorate national events of the country besides travel and tourism.
“We, Oman Post Stamps and Collectables, recently attended the 5-day Sharjah Stamps Exhibition in which 36 exhibitors presented rare and historical stamps and unique coin collections from around the world. We have participated in the last many years to bring a wide range of collectable stamps and coins and received a huge response from the visitors,” he said.
He further mentioned that the response from the visitors at the SIBF is encouraging and they will definitely participate in future as well.
“Since the opening of this book fair, we have received a good number of new customers including UAE nationals as well as from other nationalities resulting in a remarkable sale of coins and stamps,” he added.
