The Abu Dhabi Department of Municipalities and Transport has confirmed that government and private institutions, as well as schools, can reserve a municipal beach area for an event via the 'Beach Area Reservation' service. The department noted that this service is free of charge and that the application process takes approximately six minutes.
The Department explained that the booking process involves logging in with a digital ID, submitting the application and receiving confirmation of the booking. No documents are required during the application process.
The Municipality clarified that the terms of service state that the maximum number of attendees is 100, and that any increase is only permitted with the relevant municipality's approval. The facilities must not be used for commercial purposes or public events. Barbecuing, lighting candles or fires is prohibited on the beach and all waste must be disposed of in designated areas using environmentally safe methods.
The Department noted that, if one wishes to take professional photos or use cameras, approval must be obtained from the relevant authority. It is also necessary to respect the privacy of others, not to involve them in private photos and to enjoy music at a low volume, in order to avoid legal accountability and disturbance to others. It also pointed out that camping is against the regulations and conditions observed on the beach. According to the laws in force on the beach, the applicant is responsible for any damage to public property or misuse. They must also adhere to the conditions listed on the guidance signs.
