Via Medica International Healthcare, a leading Abu Dhabi-based healthcare and medical services provider, has been formally acquired by International SOS, the world’s leading health and security services company.
Via Medica in association with International SOS combines international standards with deep local expertise to deliver world-class healthcare, emergency response, and occupational health solutions across the UAE and the wider Gulf region.
“This acquisition represents an important milestone for us and for the UAE’s healthcare landscape,” said Khaled Lutfe, CEO of Via Medica. “I’m proud to be part of an Abu Dhabi-born start-up that has grown from local roots to join an organisation with International SOS’s global reach and history. It reflects how far we’ve come while staying true to who we are – we’re very much the same company; we’ve just multiplied our capabilities. Every day, our teams protect the people building the UAE’s future, and together we’re setting new standards for readiness, resilience, and care.”
Laurent Sabourin, Group Managing Director, International SOS, adds: “The combination of our global standards and Via Medica’s local expertise enables us to deliver scalable, high-quality medical solutions that directly support the UAE’s goals for resilience, safety, and healthcare excellence.”
With a team of more than 700 licensed healthcare professionals across the UAE, Via Medica delivers on-site medical services, emergency response, and health workforce training to public and private sector clients, including the Abu Dhabi Department of Health, ADNOC, and Aldar, as well as humanitarian and academic institutions. These clients will now benefit from the Group’s global standards, clinical governance frameworks, and international health and security expertise, supporting the UAE’s Vision 2031 by advancing workforce wellbeing, strengthening medical readiness, and fostering collaboration across essential industries such as energy, construction, and logistics.
“Our mission is simple: to save lives,” says Lutfe. “By investing in local talent and international systems, we ensure that workers in the UAE’s most vital sectors have access to world-class healthcare and emergency support, wherever they are.”
