VIDEO: President pilots a helicopter in the skies of the UAE

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan personally piloted a helicopter over several regions of the United Arab Emirates on Sunday.

The UAE President was seen having a light conversation with people on board.

The aerial journey reflects Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed’s hands-on leadership style and commitment to staying closely informed about the progress of national infrastructure, environmental efforts, and urban expansion.

This tour comes as part of the leadership's proactive approach to governance, where top officials stay connected to developments on the ground and reinforce their dedication to national progress and innovation.

In 2024, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan appeared in a video clip in which he is seen flying a helicopter in the skies over Dubai.

The viral video of Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed  touring Dubai on Instagram shows him piloting a helicopter over major landmarks in the Emirate.

On New Year’s eve in 2022, the UAE President flew a helicopter in the skies over Abu Dhabi. Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed was touring Abu Dhabi during the fireworks celebrations culminating New Year 2023.

He has an experience in flying the Gazelle helicopter armour and fleet.

Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed was educated at schools in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi until the age of 18.

In 1979, he joined the prestigious Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, where he trained in armour, helicopter flying, tactical flying and paratroops.

After graduating, he returned home to the UAE to join the Officers' Training Course in Sharjah, another Emirate of the UAE.

His training included a fundamental armor course and a fundamental flying course, helicopters and tactical planes, as well as parachutist course.
