Dhs400 fine for motorist who cover or obstruct licence plates in UAE

The Abu Dhabi Police have warned drivers against obscuring their vehicle licence plates in any way, for example by loading bicycles or other items that would prevent the plates from being clearly visible, or prevent the vehicle's category and issuing authority from being identified.

They stated that Article 27(b) of the Federal Traffic Law imposes a fine of Dhs400 on anyone who obscures his/her vehicle licence plate. They emphasised their commitment to intensifying traffic monitoring and taking legal action against any vehicle failing to display its licence plate numbers clearly, in accordance with the Federal Traffic Law.
