The Ministry of Education has approved the timetables for the first-semester final exams for grades 3 through 12 in all tracks (general, advanced, elite and applied) in public and private schools that follow the Ministry's curriculum.
According to the schedule, the 12th grade students will take their exams on the following dates: Physics on Thursday-November 20, Chemistry on Friday-November 21; Mathematics on Monday-November 24; English on Tuesday-November 25; Arabic on Wednesday-November 26; Islamic Education on Thursday-November 27; and Biology on Friday-November 28. The exams will conclude on Thursday-December 4 with Social Studies.
According to the general guidelines, the grade 12 English language exam will involve written and reading components, and students in grade 6 and above must bring their own laptops to take the online tests.
Regarding the use of calculators, the Ministry has permitted their use from grade 8 onwards, with the type permitted depending on the subject.
The Ministry emphasised that teachers are prohibited from reading centralised exam questions, except in certain cases such as third-grade exams, where reading the questions only is permitted without explanation of the answers. The Ministry emphasised the importance of students and parents adhering to the specified instructions and deadlines in order to ensure the exams run smoothly and students achieve the best possible results.
It also emphasised that all students must bring their own computers to school for the exams.
For the chemistry exam, both general and advanced, school administrations must print the attached periodic table and distribute it to students during the exam.
As for the Elite Track, students use the periodic table available in the Swift Assess media browser.
Grade 12 students enrolled in private schools also take all their exams in public schools under the joint supervision and coordination of School Operations Sector coordinators.
