Abu Dhabi court orders man to repay Dhs1.4m to 2 individuals for failing to honour a business deal

The Abu Dhabi Family, Civil and Administrative Cases Court upheld an appeal ruling that required the defendant to pay two individuals Dhs1.4 million.

The two individuals had filed a lawsuit against the defendant, demanding repayment of the full amount plus 5 per cent interest from the date of the legal claim until full repayment was made.

This was due to that the defendant failed to purchase plastic materials for them after receiving the funds.

The two individuals had agreed that the defendant would supply them with plastic materials from the state and ship them for Dhs1.4 million.

They handed him the amount, but he did not comply with the agreement and did not return the money.

He had agreed with the two individuals to repay the amount in instalments of Dhs200,000 every 60 days.

As he did not deny the document, the court rejected the appeal and upheld the original judgment.
