President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a congratulatory cable to Sanae Takaichi on the occasion of her election as new Prime Minister of Japan.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, sent similar cables to the Japanese premier.

Earlier, Japan's parliament elected ultraconservative Sanae Takaichi as the country's first female prime minister, a day after her struggling party struck a coalition deal with a new partner expected to pull her governing bloc further to the right.
Takaichi replaces Shigeru Ishiba, ending a three-month political vacuum and wrangling since the Liberal Democratic Party's disastrous election loss in July. Ishiba, who lasted only one year as prime minister, resigned with his Cabinet earlier in the day, paving the way for his successor.
