A young Emirati man was killed and four others were injured, some moderately, in a collision involving two vehicles on an internal road in the Ghub area of Fujairah.
Brigadier Saleh Mohammed Abdullah Al Dhanhani, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at the Fujairah Police General Command, stated that the operations room at the command received a report the night before last stating that a traffic accident had occurred involving two vehicles on Ghub Street. Traffic patrols and the National Ambulance Service rushed to the scene, where they found that the accident had been caused by one of the vehicles entering the road without ensuring it was clear. This resulted in the death of a young Emirati man in his twenties at the scene and left four others with minor and moderate injuries.
The deceased's body and the injured were taken to Dibba Al Fujairah Hospital, where they were handed over to the family and the necessary legal procedures were completed. The injured were also given the necessary first aid.
Brigadier Al Dhanhani urged drivers to avoid improper overtaking, as this is a major cause of serious accidents in the emirate. He urged drivers to check that the road is clear before changing lanes, and to avoid changing lanes suddenly or without indicating.
