In line with the Sharjah government's commitment to supporting community stability through the implementation of relevant decisions, the Sharjah Police General Command continues to enforce the Sharjah Executive Council's decision to cancel traffic violations. This decision stipulates that violations more than 10 years old will be deleted.
So far, 284 people have benefited from the decision, with more than 7,000 traffic violations cancelled in accordance with the specified regulations and procedures.
The decision also stipulates a cancellation fee of Dhs1,000, with exemptions for special cases such as the death of the vehicle owner, their departure from the country for at least ten consecutive years, or abandoned vehicles where the owner cannot be located.
Those who meet the conditions can benefit from the decision by visiting a Traffic and Licensing Services Centre.
The Sharjah Police General Command is calling on the public to adhere to traffic laws and avoid committing traffic violations in order to enhance traffic discipline and maintain public safety.
The General Command also reminds the public of the Executive Council’s decision to regulate exemption rates for violations.
This decision grants a 35% discount when the fine is paid within 60 days of the violation date.
This discount covers the fine, the impoundment period and the impoundment fee.
A 25% discount is granted after 60 days and before the expiry of one year from the date of the violation, but this only includes the fine.
The Sharjah Police urge drivers to take advantage of these facilities in order to support compliance enhance traffic safety and strengthen community confidence in the emirate's police and traffic systems.
