The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has temporarily closed Mohammed Bin Musa Al Khwarizmi Street in Al Juraina area, near University Hospital.
This is part of the SRTA's comprehensive maintenance work to improve the efficiency of the road and traffic flow in the area.
In a statement, the SRTA explained that the closure began last Friday and will continue until Sunday (Oct.19, 2025).
It added that this work forms part of its regular plan to maintain and develop the road network in Sharjah to the highest quality and safety standards.
The project aims to rehabilitate the asphalt layers and improve the quality of the road in terms of traffic safety and driving experience, particularly in areas with high traffic density, such as Al Juraina.
SRTA confirmed that it would implement the works according to a specific timetable and provide alternative routes, as detailed on an attached map and on its social media accounts.
Al Bada'a Road and a number of surrounding streets have been designated as alternative routes to ensure traffic flows safely and smoothly during the closure period.
The Authority called on road users to follow the road signs posted at the work site and adhere to traffic safety instructions and the specified speed limits, in order to ensure the safety of all road users.
The Authority also confirmed that it is working with the Sharjah Police General Command to regulate traffic and ensure a smooth flow of traffic throughout the construction period.
