Renowned Iraqi actor Mahdi Al Najm dies in a road accident

On Saturday, the Iraqi Artists Syndicate mourned the passing of the Iraqi actor Mahdi Al Najm, who died in a traffic accident.

In a statement, the syndicate said: "We extend our deepest condolences to his family, loved ones and colleagues. May God Almighty have mercy on the deceased and grant him a place in heaven. May He inspire everyone with patience and solace."

The statement added: "At the same time, the Syndicate calls on the relevant security authorities to take urgent action to pursue the case and arrest the perpetrator, who fled the scene of the accident, in order to achieve justice and bring closure to the family and friends of the late actor."

Mahdi Al Najm was a short, creative actor who embodied the spirit of generosity, determination and creativity in Iraqi art.
