Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is taking part with a prominent pavilion at GITEX Global 2025, the world’s largest showcase for technology and digital transformation, to be held from Oct.13 to 17 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
During its participation, RTA will unveil 11 pioneering projects and initiatives that underscore its leadership in harnessing the latest advancements in artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), and predictive technologies.
Among the highlights are the Smart Connected Vehicles Network, AutoCheck 360, the Smart Mobility Platform for Safe Cities, the Smart Traffic Solutions Platform, the Safe Tracks Rail Inspection System (ARIIS), the Trackless Tram, Dubai Mobility Lab, the aerial taxi, interactive kiosks, smart digital channels, and the AI Factory.
Mattar Al Tayer, Director General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), stressed RTA’s keenness to participate in GITEX, the world’s largest event for modern technologies, through presenting a comprehensive suite of smart projects and initiatives that embody the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to make Dubai the smartest and happiest city in the world.
SMART VEHICLE NETWORK: The Smart Vehicle Network (UTC-UX Fusion) underscores RTA’s leadership in advancing AI-powered traffic management systems and ranks among the most sophisticated solutions of its kind in the region. Developed and operated at the Dubai Intelligent Traffic Systems Centre, the fully integrated network forms the backbone of traffic signal operations in the emirate, enabling predictive traffic control through AI and real-time data analytics.
AUTOCHECK 360: The Auto Vehicle Inspection System (AutoCheck 360) represents a model of government innovation and proactivity in applying AI to operational services. This fully integrated smart system employs computer vision and the Internet of Things to minimise human error and standardise inspection criteria with unprecedented accuracy.
AERIAL TAXI: The aerial taxi (Joby S4) is distinguished by its vertical take-off and landing capability. Trial operations have commenced to test the vehicle in Dubai’s local environment, paving the way for the launch of a commercial in-city service.
This pioneering service will offer residents and visitors a fast, safe, and convenient transport option to key destinations across the city. For example, a journey from Dubai International Airport to Palm Jumeirah is expected to take just 10 minutes, compared with approximately 45 minutes by car.
SMART MOBILITY PLATFORM FOR SAFE CITIES: In a proactive step that reinforces Dubai’s position as a global leader in safe smart mobility, RTA has developed the Smart Mobility Platform for Safe Cities. This centralised system is powered by Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) to monitor and manage a wide range of commercial transport operations, including delivery bikes, school buses, and other commercial transport activities.
The platform analyses data transmitted from IoT devices on speed, route adherence, and driver behaviour, with AI assessing this information to identify unsafe practices and initiate immediate corrective measures.
SAFE TRACKS RAIL INSPECTION SYSTEM (ARIIS): RTA is reinforcing its leadership in smart infrastructure through the Automated Rail Inspection and Intelligent System (ARIIS), an advanced solution for rail inspection and maintenance.
SMART DIGITAL CHANNELS: At GITEX 2025, RTA is presenting the latest advancements in its integrated digital ecosystem, spearheaded by S’hail app – Dubai’s unified digital mobility channel. S’hail exemplifies a pioneering model in providing a seamless mobility experience, offering access to all public and private transport modes within a single platform.
AI FACTORY: RTA’s Artificial Intelligence Factory serves as a strategic platform that exemplifies government innovation in building advanced capabilities in data and machine learning. The factory brings together a team of specialised experts dedicated to developing intelligent, self-learning systems that optimise operations and elevate organisational performance.
