Light to heavy rain fell in various parts of the country on Sunday, including Hail, Mohammed Bin Zayed City in Fujairah, Kalba, Washah (south of Al Dhaid in Sharjah), Saih Al Saadi, and Adhan (south of Ras Al Khaimah).
Rain is expected to continue in some inland and southern areas, as well as on the islands, on Monday and Tuesday. This is due to an extension of a surface low-pressure system accompanied by a low-pressure system in the upper atmosphere.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has urged the public to exercise caution during periods of heavy rain and strong winds in certain eastern regions. Such conditions could result in loose objects being blown around and reduced visibility. They should also avoid areas prone to landslides and flooding.
Various areas in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi are expected to experience intermittent rain of varying intensity until Tuesday.
Abu Dhabi city may also experience light to moderate rain in scattered and limited areas, which may spread to the surrounding areas.
This could be accompanied by moderate to strong winds and clouds.
Meanwhile, Al Ain and Al Dhafra will experience rain of varying intensity in scattered and limited areas. This may be heavy at times in some areas and be accompanied by strong winds and cloud formation, and there may be small hail.
The NCM expects Monday's weather to be clear to partly cloudy, with cumulus clouds possibly forming in the north and east and spreading to some inland and southern areas and islands, bringing rain.
It will be humid overnight and on Tuesday morning in some western areas, with the possibility of light fog forming. Winds will be light to moderate in speed, southeasterly to northeasterly.
They will be active to strong at times, especially when it is cloudy, causing dust and sandstorms and leading to a decrease in horizontal visibility. They will range in speed from 15 to 30 km/h, reaching 55 km/h at times. The sea will have light to medium waves and may become rough at times with clouds in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
On Tuesday, the weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy, with a chance of cumulus clouds and rain in the east and south. It will be humid at night and on Wednesday morning over some coastal and inland areas, with a chance of light fog.
