The United Arab Emirates has distributed 1,000 food baskets to families of orphans and displaced persons across districts in Yemen’s western coast.
The initiative was overseen by the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), which played a key role in coordinating logistics and delivering the food supplies to the targeted families to help them overcome difficult living conditions and ease their hardships.
Through such humanitarian efforts, the UAE continues to improve the living standards of displaced and vulnerable communities in Yemen, as part of its ongoing commitment to alleviating suffering amid the country’s challenging circumstances.
Recently, the ERC launched its annual charitable project in the Yemeni city of Al Mukalla, Hadhramaut Governorate, to distribute clothing to children with special needs, orphans, and the most underprivileged families.
This initiative is part of the United Arab Emirates’ efforts in Hadhramaut to alleviate the hardships of citizens and bring smiles to their faces.
Hamid Rashid Al Shamsi, Advisor for Development and International Cooperation and ERC Representative in Hadhramaut Governorate, stated to the media that the project aims to provide Eid clothing to 7,525 beneficiaries, distributing 1,075 shopping vouchers, each valued at Dhs200, which can be used in various shopping centres across the governorate.
The goal is to ease the financial burden on families and bring happiness and joy to the hearts of the beneficiaries.
The ERC also has delivered a shipment of essential medicines and medical supplies to the health unit in a remote area in Ad-Dees Ash-Sharqia, Hadramaut Governorate, as part of the country’s ongoing efforts to support Yemen’s healthcare sector.
In addition to delivering medicines, the ERC’s mobile medical clinic provided free medical services, including check-ups and treatments to improve access to basic healthcare.
This step reflects the UAE’s commitment to standing by the Yemeni people during times of crisis and supporting humanitarian relief efforts in the most affected areas.
