In its latest update on Tropical Storm Shakti, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) reported that the current situation is a tropical storm in the west of the Arabian Sea. It is located at a latitude of 19.6°N and a longitude of 60.5°E. Classified as a tropical storm, it has wind speeds ranging between 60 and 70 km/h, confirming that Shakti will have no impact on the country.
The NCM expects the storm to weaken over the next 24 hours, first transforming into a tropical depression and then into a low-pressure system. It noted that the storm is moving southeastwards, with wind speeds ranging between 25 and 55 km/h.
The NCM also expects fog to form over coastal areas on Tuesday and continue for three days. Generally, it will be clear to partly cloudy, with clouds towering over the eastern parts in the afternoon. It will be humid at night and on Wednesday morning over some coastal areas, with a possibility of fog or light fog forming. Winds will be southeasterly to northwesterly, with speeds of 10 to 25 km/h (light to moderate). The waves will be light to medium in the Arabian Gulf and light in the Sea of Oman.
The Wednesday's weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy. It will be humid at night and on Thursday morning in some inland areas, with a possibility of light fog. Winds will be light to moderate in speed (ranging from 10 to 25 km/h, reaching 30 km/h), southeasterly to northwesterly. The waves will be light to medium in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
The weather on Thursday is expected to be clear to partly cloudy, with clouds towering over the east in the afternoon. It will be humid at night and on Friday morning over some coastal and inland areas, with a possibility of light fog forming. Winds will be southeasterly to northeasterly, light to moderate in speed and sometimes active, reaching speeds of between 10 and 25 km/h and occasionally up to 35 km/h. The sea will have light to medium waves at times in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
The Friday's weather will be clear to partly cloudy, with occasional cloud cover, especially in the east. It will be humid at night and on Saturday morning in some coastal and inland areas. Winds will be southeasterly to northeasterly and light to moderate in speed, occasionally stronger, reaching speeds of 10 to 25 km/h and occasionally up to 35 km/h.
