Salik has determined four categories of people of determination who are eligible to exemption from paying Salik fees.
On its website, the company explained that people of determination with one of the following four types of disability are eligible to exemption from paying Salik toll fees: mental disability, motor disability, autism and visual disability.
Relationship between person of determination and vehicle owner
To qualify for exemption from paying Salik fees, the relationship between a person of determination and the vehicle owner must fall within the following categories: Parents, spouse (proof of marriage required), children (proof of birth required), grandparents, brothers/sisters and grandchildren.
Documents required
Salik explained that there are a number of documents that should be provided so that applicant can benefit from the exemption from paying toll fees.
These documents are: valid vehicle’s registration card of the people of determination or one of the relatives from 1st or 2nd degree, copy of valid Emirates ID of the person of determination, valid people of determination ID card issued by Ministry of Community Empowerment or Sanad card issued by Community Development Authority, valid proof of relationship document (1st or 2nd degree relatives) if the person of determination is not the vehicle owner, to be sent to the following email: [email protected].
To apply for an exemption, visit the Salik website, click on 'Salik Services', select 'Request for Exemption from Salik Fees' and complete the application form. Alternatively, you can call 80072545 24/7 to complete the process.
There are currently 10 Salik toll gates in Dubai: Al Safa South (Sheikh Zayed Road), Al Safa North (Sheikh Zayed Road), Business Bay Crossing (Al Khail Road), Al Barsha (Sheikh Zayed Road), Al Garhoud Bridge (Sheikh Rashid Road), Al Maktoum Bridge (Umm Hurair Road), Al Mamzar South (Al Ittihad Road), Al Mamzar North (Al Ittihad Road), Airport Tunnel (Beirut Road), and Jebel Ali (Sheikh Zayed Road).
