On Sunday, light to heavy rain fell in various parts of the country, including Souq Al Juma'ah in Masafi. This was due to the country being affected by a weak surface low-pressure system extending from the east, as well as a high-pressure system extending from the west and an upper-level high-pressure system.
The UAE coasts, particularly around Khorfakkan, also experienced a significant increase in wave activity due to the indirect impact of Cyclone Shakti, centred in the north-eastern Arabian Sea.
The cyclone's effects are gradually becoming apparent in the country in the form of sea roughness and increased wave activity in the eastern regions.
