The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has announced the temporary closure of the exit from King Faisal Street onto Al Wahda Road towards Dubai, effective from Friday, October 3, until October 11. This is part of development work on Sharjah's vital road network and is part of a comprehensive plan to enhance infrastructure efficiency and facilitate traffic flow.
The SRTA confirmed that the works form part of its ongoing traffic improvement strategy, which aims to enhance traffic flow on the main roads and connect vital areas of the emirate with safer, more flexible roads. It explained that the closure is part of a series of maintenance and development works related to the road's infrastructure, which should help reduce congestion during peak hours.
During the closure, road users are asked to cooperate by following the road signs around the project and using the designated alternative routes. These access roads pass near Al Nad, Al Majaz 2, Abu Shagara, Budanq and the 4th Industrial Zone.
The importance of drivers adhering to traffic instructions and speed limits during the diversions was emphasised, in order to ensure the safety of both themselves and other road users. The company emphasised its commitment to completing the work on time and reopening the exit on schedule. The public can obtain more information about the closure and alternative routes by visiting the company's official platforms and scanning the QR code attached to publications related to the project.
