VIDEO: Abu Dhabi Police share accident video, warn against stopping in the middle of the road

In cooperation with the Monitoring and Control Centre, the Abu Dhabi Police broadcast a video of an accident caused by a vehicle stopping unjustifiably in the middle of the road.

This incident led to other accidents involving vehicles due to inattention and distraction during the subsequent traffic jam.

The Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate of the Abu Dhabi Police urged drivers not to stop in middle of the road, even if a tyre malfunctions for any reason. They urged drivers to head to the nearest exit to ensure the safety of other road users.

If this is not possible, they should immediately call the Command and Control Centre (999) for assistance to avoid serious accidents and traffic obstructions.

The Directorate also urged drivers to remain focused on the road and fully concentrate while driving, in order to avoid unexpected incidents.

This enhances attention and enables prompt, safe action. The Directorate explained that inattention in this situation can cause accidents, which often result in death, serious injury and legal liability.
