In attendance were Brigadier Dr Ahmed Saeed Al Naour, Director General of the General Department of Community Protection and Prevention; Brigadier Abdullah Rashid Al Layy, Director of the Punitive and Correctional Institutions Department; and several officers. The forum aims to strengthen family ties, support the rehabilitation of inmates, and help them reintegrate positively into society.
In cooperation with the Faraj Fund, the forum witnessed the release of 13 inmates after their outstanding amounts were paid. This is part of a humanitarian initiative aimed at supporting prisoners and helping them to reintegrate into society.
Brigadier Dr. Ahmed Al Naour emphasised that the forum forms part of the Sharjah Police General Command's approach to strengthening family ties and achieving social balance. He added that reform work encompasses not only legal aspects, but also psychological, social and humanitarian dimensions.
Speaking at the forum, Brigadier Abdullah Rashid Allay explained that this initiative represents a positive step towards providing inmates with a new opportunity. He emphasised the importance of seizing this opportunity to build a better future and strengthen family and social cohesion.
As part of Sharjah Police's ongoing efforts to enhance the human dimension of its correctional programmes, the forum featured interactions between inmates and their families in a reassuring social atmosphere.
