In a precedent that was the first of its kind since it was established, the One-Day Court in Ras Al Khaimah successfully adjudicated a civil case worth Dhs900 million in just one day, from filing the case until the verdict was issued, without any delay, appeal or objection.
Counsellor Ahmed Al Khatri, Chairman of Ras Al Khaimah Courts Department, stated that the court reconciled a dispute between investors in the case no. 519 for 2025 related to real estate purchase and sale transactions agreed upon by the two parties.
He explained that the case marked a milestone in the court’s record, given the amount subject of dispute and the speed with which it was resolved.
This achievement reflects the success of the pioneering initiatives launched by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah and Chairman of the Judicial Council, to develop the judicial system and expedite litigation procedures, thus consolidating the efficiency of justice and enhancing community confidence in the judiciary, he said.
Al Khatri explained that the parties to the lawsuit’s awareness, tolerance, honesty, integrity and trust in the judiciary facilitated the court’s mission, which was specifically designed for such disputes.
The court was also keen on ensuring the integrity of litigation procedures and the accurate issuance of judgments to the satisfaction of both parties to the dispute, he added.
