Heavy truck drivers learn about road safety

Dubai Police, represented by the General Department of Traffic and the Positive Spirit Council, organised a road safety awareness programme for 350 heavy truck drivers from Tri Star Transport.
The event took place at Delhi Private School in Jebel Ali.
The programme featured a series of lectures on traffic safety rules, along with educational competitions designed to raise drivers’ awareness and reduce accidents involving heavy vehicles.
Dubai Police explained that the initiative comes as part of ongoing efforts to educate truck drivers about traffic laws and recent amendments, helping to enhance their knowledge and awareness.
The programme also promoted a culture of safe driving by sharing experiences and best practices, including handling sudden stops, navigating different road conditions, and ensuring mechanical safety checks such as tyres and brakes.
Dubai Police added that the awareness programme aimed to deliver key messages to drivers, urging them to avoid distractions that could put their lives or the lives of others at risk.
Ultimately, the initiative contributes to reducing traffic accidents, injuries, and fatalities.
