Individuals who committed to their pledge to the 'A Day Without Accidents' campaign, held on Aug.25, 2025, received an SMS announcing the removal of four black points previously recorded against them.
This was in appreciation of their participation in and commitment to an initiative aimed at enhancing traffic safety. This is one of the Ministry of Interior's initiatives designed to encourage drivers to drive safely and motivate them to help prevent accidents.
The Ministry of Interior, represented by the Federal Traffic Council and in coordination with the police departments across the country, launched its pioneering traffic initiative, ‘A Day Without Accidents’, on Aug.25, the first day of the new school year and the start of its quarterly ‘Safe School Year’ campaign, to raise awareness of safety, prevention and traffic protection for road users.
The initiative aimed to reward those who committed to the pledge and adhered to traffic laws.
This included fastening seatbelts, complying with speed limits, maintaining a safe distance, respecting the priority and safety of pedestrians, avoiding distractions while driving (especially using a mobile phone), and yielding to emergency vehicles, ambulances, police vehicles, and official convoys.
Registering for and participating in the ‘A Day Without Accidents’ initiative is important for two reasons: not only can you get four points deleted, but you can also contribute directly to making roads safer for everyone, especially at the start of the school year when traffic increases. The initiative demonstrates the Ministry of the Interior's commitment to engaging the community in preventing traffic accidents and achieving long-term traffic safety goals.
At the start of the 2025-2026 academic year, the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Federal Traffic Council and in coordination with all police general commands across the country, launched the 'Safe School Year' campaign. The campaign aimed to enhance traffic safety, emphasise the importance of protection and ensure smooth traffic flow, providing a safe environment for students from the first day of school.
The campaign involved providing information and messages emphasising the importance of respecting pedestrians, reducing speeds and adhering to preventive measures such as vehicle maintenance and wearing seatbelts. The campaign aimed to promote community safety.
