Over 1,500 doctors and healthcare professionals from UAE and GCC countries have attended the 2-day Emirates Paediatric and Neonatal Society Conference held in Dubai.
The speakers at the conference have discussed the latest developments in the field and through a series of workshops shared the information.
Talking to the media, Dr Entisar Al Hammadi, Paediatric Nephrology Consultant, President of the Emirates Pediatric Society, and Head of Quality and Patient Safety at the Dubai Health Authority, emphasised that this year’s conference was held with the aim of increasing interaction and focusing discussions. It included five scientific tracks covering various topics, most notably vaccinations, such as those for children travelling.
She indicated that the goal is to standardise medical practices based on scientific evidence, ensuring that children across the UAE receive the same level of medical care.
Dr Eslam El-Baroudy, Professor and Consultant of Pediatrics, Vice President of the Emirates Paediatric Society, and Chief Medical Officer of Kids Heart Medical Centres in collaboration with Columbia University, explained that the conference discussed the latest innovations in paediatric medicine, including new vaccines such as the nasal influenza vaccine and the expansion of the use of the respiratory syncytial virus vaccine to include all children, in addition to the development of new tools for the early detection of malnutrition.
He emphasised that these efforts will contribute to raising the level of paediatric healthcare and standardizing recommendations at the Gulf level.
The 2025 edition of the conference was a resounding success, with more than 33 workshops held over two days, attended by more than 1,000 medical practitioners. The conference witnessed outstanding interaction between lecturers, speakers, and attendees, achieving the primary goal of sharing accurate knowledge and exchanging experiences among medical practitioners at the local, regional, and international levels.
The conference also featured 12 scientific lectures delivered by physicians from within and outside the country, including experts from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and neighboring Arab countries, as well as participants from Russia, Britain, and the United States.
This contributed to enriching the scientific discussions and diversifying the studies presented.
The conference also featured two specialised workshops with the participation of expert panels. The outcomes of these workshops will be translated into scientific papers to be published after the conference to enhance scientific knowledge and share successful experiences.
