A video posted by Indian national Trishaa Raj on Instagram has once again highlighted Dubai as one of the safest cities for women. In the video, she is seen walking alone on a street at 2:37 a.m., affirming that she felt “safe, confident, and free.”
The video quickly gained 800,000 views, with Trisha saying: Growing up as a girl in India, I always felt restricted, especially when it came to going out at night. We needed our brothers or guy friends just to feel safe. But in Dubai, things are so different.
The other night, I walked alone at 2:37 AM. Something I could never imagine doing back home. And you know what? I didn’t feel scared, I didn’t walk with my head down! I felt safe, confident, and free.
Girls, if you’ve ever dreamed of living an independent life, where you can enjoy the night without fear, Dubai gives you exactly that.
“This is only possible in one place in the world, and that is Dubai. Girls here are extremely safe.”
She added: “What I did wouldn’t have been possible anywhere else but Dubai, as I was never used to walking alone at such a late hour without fear.”
The video sparked wide interaction across social media, with many users expressing admiration for her experience and affirming the safe environment that Dubai provides, especially for women.
One user commented: “My daughter used to come back late from university, and I never felt worried because she was in Dubai.”
Another wrote: “Even in Western cities, I cannot feel this level of safety.”
Some comments included comparisons with other cities, with users noting that places like Mumbai also remain lively at night, while others emphasized that what makes Dubai special is not only safety, but also the respect and dignity granted to women at all times.
The sense of safety in Dubai stems from several factors, most notably the culture of respect and hospitality, the effective police presence, and the well-lit public spaces.
Violent crime rates are nearly nonexistent, making the city a favored destination for tourists, particularly women and solo travelers.
This incident once again reaffirms Dubai’s status as a model city for women’s safety and security within an urban environment that combines modernity with social discipline.
