Sharjah Police, in co-operation and co-ordination with the National Search and Rescue Centre of the National Guard, rescued a citizen who sustained moderate injuries after his motorcycle overturned in Rafada desert in Al Madam in the Central Region.
This came after Sharjah Police’s Operations Centre received a report at 7:09am on Sunday, stating that a motorcycle had overturned in Rafada desert in Al Madam City.
Dedicated teams, supported by the National Guard’s search and rescue aircraft, rushed to the scene of the accident to evacuate the injured citizen and airlift him to Al Dhaid Hospital for the necessary medical care.
The medical teams confirmed that the injured citizen’s condition was stable and he left the hospital after receiving the necessary medical treatment.
This highlighted the high level of preparedness, rapid response and effective coordination among the competent authorities, which contributed to saving the injured citizen’s life and dealing with the report with high efficiency.
Sharjah Police urged motorcyclists to abide by the approved instructions and regulations when practising their desert hobbies as part of their ongoing efforts to promote safety and prevention.
They warned that engaging in these activities without adequate awareness of the instructions and regulations could lead to serious accidents, stressing the importance of avoiding reckless driving or venturing into rugged or remote areas that are difficult to access in emergencies.
Sharjah Police urge the public to call 901 for general inquiries and non-emergency reports and 999 for emergencies and critical situations.
