A Dubai-based manufacturing firm become first in the Middle East to design a wide range of sportsware made plant-based and technical fabrics for athletes as ‘smarter investment’ for who train in extreme climates, and made to perform at a global level.
The plant-based and technical fabrics are part of Neotech collection and introduced by Dubai-born premium gym wear brand Squatwolf in Dubai.
In an exclusive interview with Gulf Today, Anam Khalid, co-founder, Squatwolf said that “we’ve taken what’s best from nature and combined it with modern sports science to make better workout clothes. For example, fabrics in the Neotech collection are made from plant-based fibers instead of just synthetic ones, which makes them softer, more breathable, and more eco-friendly. Then we’ve added performance technology — things like quick-drying properties, temperature control, and stretch — so they can handle tough workouts, heat, and movement,” she added.
Responding a question, she said, “high-performance fabrics aren’t new globally — but what makes Neotech unique is where it’s coming from and how it’s built.
We are the first brand from the Middle East to take performance training apparel beyond synthetics and anchor it in natural, plant-based fibers like Sorona and viscose. While most global players rely almost entirely on petroleum-based synthetics, Neotech proves that you don’t have to compromise on performance to introduce more nature-inspired, sustainable, and sensory fabrics into high-intensity training gear.”
She mentioned that the current materials — Sorona, spacer knit, and Actdry — are produced using specialized textiles that likely involve global supply chains. “Squatwolf designs this collection in Dubai, reflecting its identity as a Dubai-born brand, but the fabrics themselves are sourced internationally,” she added.
Related to affordability, she said, “Neotech is not positioned around lower price, it’s positioned around performance, innovation, and longevity.
