Abu Dhabi Family, Civil, and Administrative Cases Court ordered a woman to repay Dhs360,000 to a man after she admitted in writing that she owed him the amount.
The amount was delayed rent values of a villa owned by the man, which she had pledged to settle after vacating the rented villa.
After signing the acknowledgment, she sent it via WhatsApp, which served as proof of her debt. When he demanded repayment, she began to procrastinate.
In the details, a man filed a lawsuit against a woman, requesting that she be compelled to pay Dhs360,000, along with legal interest from the date of the judicial claim, and to cover the court fees and attorney’s fees.
The plaintiff stated that the defendant had admitted in writing that she owed him the amount for overdue rent and had pledged to pay it after vacating the rented villa.
However, when he demanded repayment, she began to procrastinate.
The court clarified that the plaintiff provided screenshots of WhatsApp conversations, which the defendant did not deny.
These conversations included chats for her not denying that she owed him the amount, and she failed to provide evidence of payment.
The court added that her statements were deemed unsupported, leading the court to order her to repay the amount to the man.
