The Abu Dhabi Family, Civil, and Administrative Cases Court dismissed a lawsuit filed by a woman against her husband, in which she demanded the return of Dhs100,000 she claimed he borrowed from her during their marriage and refused to repay.
The court ruled that the woman’s claim was unsubstantiated, as she failed to provide evidence to prove the loan or the purpose of the financial transfers.
In the details, the wife filed a lawsuit against her husband, requesting the court to compel him to repay Dhs100,000, along with legal interest of 9% from the date of the lawsuit until full payment.
She also sought Dhs10,000 as compensation for being deprived of the use of her money, in addition to covering the lawsuit fees and expenses.
The court reviewed the bank statement provided by the wife, which showed numerous transactions between her and her husband, including purchases for household needs.
The court determined that these transfers were merely financial movements between the two parties and did not constitute evidence of a loan.
The wife’s claim was deemed baseless, as she failed to clarify the reason for the transfers or provide supporting evidence. Consequently, the court dismissed the case.
