Dr. Nadia Rashid Al Mazrouei, Associate Professor at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Sharjah and Chair of ISPOR UAE Chapter, has been elected Vice President of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) Council during the its annual meeting currently being held in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Al Mazrouei was able to gain the trust of the international pharmaceutical community, ahead of competitors from major countries such as the United States and India, by a clear margin of votes, supported by strong endorsement from Gulf and Arab pharmaceutical associations.
First Gulf woman to hold the post
“This victory is not personal but rather a victory for the UAE, the Gulf states and the entire Arab world. It is a reflection of Arab solidarity and a shared belief in the profession’s mission and global role,” Al Mazrouei said.
Al Mazrouei is the first Gulf and second Arab woman to assume this international position after Dr. Samira Goussous, making her election a pivotal moment in the global journey of Arab women pharmacists.
Kuwait Pharmaceutical Association and Arab associations extended their sincere congratulations to the UAE on this win, stressing that it reflected the stature of Arab cadres in leading the pharmaceutical sector worldwide and enhanced their presence in formulating international health and pharmaceutical policies.
It is noteworthy that Al Mazrouei has 35 years of experience in pharmaceutical education, healthcare leadership and international pharmaceutical policies and has played a pioneering role in launching unique initiatives such as Green Pharmacy, drug security projects and healthcare innovation.
