Abu Dhabi Family, Civil, and Administrative Cases Court has ordered a woman to pay another Dhs159,000, in addition to a compensation of Dhs5,000.
The case dates back to when a woman borrowed another’s car, which was involved in a traffic accident caused by the defendant, according to the SAED report.
The accident resulted in the car being written off.
In the details, the plaintiff filed a lawsuit against the defendant, demanding Dhs160,000 for the value of the car and Dhs140,000 as material and moral compensation for the destruction of her vehicle, which was written off from the traffic registry. She also requested legal interest, court fees, and attorney fees.
The plaintiff stated that she lent her car to the defendant, who caused a traffic accident, resulting in the complete destruction and write-off of the vehicle.
She demanded Dhs160,000 for the car's value, but the defendant refused to pay.
To support her claim, the plaintiff submitted the Conciliation and Settlement Committee's decision allowing the case to be heard in court, the car purchase invoice valued at Dhs159,000, the accident report, and the vehicle write-off record.
The court clarified that the plaintiff lent her car, valued at Dhs159,000 according to the invoice, to the defendant.
The accident report confirmed that the defendant was at fault due to negligence and lack of attention, leading to the car being written off from traffic records.
The court ordered the appellee to pay the plaintiff the value of the car, Dhs159,000, besides Dhs3,000 in material compensation and Dhs2,000 in moral compensation.
