UAE ministry warns residents against scam calls from unknown numbers

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has provided several recommendations to its customers to protect themselves from fraudulent phishing calls.

In a post on its "X" account, MoHRE warned: "Beware of unknown phone numbers.”

The ministry further stated: "Dear customers, to safeguard your data, we urge you to be cautious of calls from unknown or potentially fake phone numbers that aim to conduct phone phishing and obtain your personal or confidential information.

The caller may falsely claim to be from an official entity.”

The ministry advised customers to report any suspicious activities related to the ministry directly through the contact centre at 600590000 or via email at [email protected]. Additionally, the ministry offered the following tips for handling unknown phone numbers including verifying contact numbers through the official platforms of the entity (website or social media accounts), contacting the MOHRE call centre for confirmation, and using the ministry’s official phone number or email address for communication.
