The UAE embassy in London stated on its "X" platform account: "Dear Emirati traveller, to ensure your safety and the safety of your companions, the UAE Embassy in London calls on you to comply with the travel guidelines of your destination country. In case of emergencies, please contact the dedicated hotline for UAE citizens abroad, available 24/7: 0097180024”.
The embassy also called on citizens to register themselves and their families on "Twajudi" service, ensure their passports are valid for at least six months and verify the financial transaction system in the destination country (such as using credit cards or cash payments). Travellers are also advised to contact their bank to ensure their cards are activated for international use.
Additionally, the embassy encouraged citizens to review the travel guidelines for their specific destination available on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' website and smart application.
This includes key instructions related to travel, such as verifying the requirements for issuing visas for domestic workers well in advance, keeping copies of identification documents, adhering to traffic laws, ensuring the name on the passport matches the vehicle registration before travelling, and meeting any health requirements mandated by the destination country.
Finally, the embassy added that travellers should familiarise themselves with the requirements for recognizing UAE driving licences and the process for exchanging them, as detailed on the travel guidelines page for each destination on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' website and smart application.
