The General Department of Punitive and Correctional Institutions at Dubai Police, in coordination and cooperation with the Community Development Authority in Dubai, organised a special visit for an inmate, allowing her four children to meet her after a long period of separation due to her imprisonment and family circumstances.
The special visit for the inmate mother was part of the "Inmate Happiness" initiative launched by the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Institutions, aimed at alleviating the hardships of inmates during their imprisonment.
Colonel Jamila Al Zaabi, Director of the Women's Prison at the Department, stated that the Women's Prison administration continuously monitors the conditions of inmates. They noticed that the inmate was isolating herself from others, so they intervened to understand if she needed any assistance. She confirmed that she missed her children, whom she hadn't seen in a long time.
Colonel Al Zaabi noted that the administration decided to bring her happiness by arranging a meeting with her children, in collaboration with the Community Development Authority in Dubai.
Al Zaabi explained that the administration informed the inmate she had visitors and when she came out and saw her children, she burst into tears along with them.
The inmate and her children expressed gratitude to the Dubai Police General Command for the wonderful humanitarian initiative and their keen efforts to bring happiness to inmates and their families. The inmate mentioned that she had always dreamed of this visit.
