Sharjah's local emergency, crisis and disaster management team confirmed that the fire which broke out on Friday evening at a clothing warehouse in Hamriyah Free Zone 2 was completely contained, and no injuries were reported.
The specialist teams responded to the incident with great efficiency and professionalism, implementing a comprehensive plan to control the fire and secure the area, Brigadier General Omar Al Ghazal, Director General of the General Directorate of Operations and Security Support and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Sharjah Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Team said. This helped to contain the fire, prevent it from spreading to neighbouring sites and limit potential damage, he added
Brigadier Saeed Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director General of Sharjah Civil Defence and member of the Executive Committee of the Sharjah Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Team, added that the teams had managed to extinguish the fire extremely swiftly, demonstrating their high level of preparedness, precision and coordination in carrying out their duties, and ensuring the protection of lives and property, as well as maintaining public safety.
The relevant teams are currently implementing cooling operations to ensure the safety of the site and prevent the fire from recurring, while the competent authorities are conducting the necessary investigations to determine its cause.
The Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Team commended the efforts and cooperation of the following field teams: Dubai Civil Defence General Command, Ajman Civil Defence General Directorate, Umm Al Quwain Civil Defence Department, Fujairah Civil Defence Department, Sharjah Municipality, Hamriyah Municipality, the Free Zone Authority and Al Marwan Company.
The team emphasised that this cooperation demonstrates the effectiveness of the integrated emergency response system, as well as a commitment to collaborative institutional efforts to ensure public safety.
