Iraqi bodybuilding champion Hammoudi Riyad shot to death at Erbil petrol station

The Iraqi National Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation mourned the death of the young Iraqi champion, Hammoudi Riyad, following a shooting incident in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

In a statement, the federation said: "The Iraqi National Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation mourns the death of the young Iraqi champion, Hammoudi Riyad, who was shot and killed on Wednesday evening in Erbil."

News reports and social media platforms confirmed the killing of two individuals at a fuel station in Erbil.

The reports explained that the victim had gone to the fuel station to have his car filled with petrol but he spilled some onto the car, leading to an argument between the driver and the station worker. The worker then used a firearm to kill the driver and also shot the passenger who was with him.

The reports added that security forces arrested the perpetrator, who has been detained pending investigation.
