Emirati passport issued and renewed in five minutes: ICP

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP) announced the launch of a new service that enables Emiratis to have their passports issued and renewed in just five minutes. The move aims to ease travel for Emiratis and expedite their transactions.

The ICP stated that the service is available round the clock at all airports in the country, where travelers can complete the renewal or issuance process immediately, while they are at the airport.

This initiative comes in line with the state’s vision to enhance the quality of government services and provide innovative solutions that meet the needs of customers.

The ICP advised all Emiratis to check the validity of their passports before traveling, especially if they are valid for less than six months, to avoid any obstacles that might hinder their journey. The instant service at the airport is an ideal solution for any Emirati passenger who discovers their passport is about to expire just before traveling, it said.

The ICP explained that the service is not limited to passport renewals alone, but also includes issuing passports for the first time, giving Emiratis greater flexibility in choosing the most appropriate method for completing their transactions.

The ICP affirmed that its employees at airports work round the clock to readily assist travelers, reflecting their commitment to providing a distinguished and prompt service experience.

In addition to the instant service at the airport, the ICP has also provided the possibility of submitting applications electronically via its official website or smart app, allowing customers to complete their transactions from anywhere with ease.

To facilitate access to the service, the ICP posted an explanatory video explaining the steps for issuing and renewing a passport, highlighting the simplicity and speed of the procedures.
