On Tuesday, the funeral of the retired Emirati soldier, Mohammed Faraj Al-Tamimi, 70, was held in Dubai and the funeral prayer took place after Asr prayer at Al-Qusais Cemetery, attended by his sons, family members, friends, and well-wishers.
The deceased passed away last Saturday in a tragic traffic accident on Haima Road in the Sultanate of Oman, while he was on his way to Salalah with his wife and daughter for a weekend getaway when the vehicle they were in collided with another coming from the opposite direction at high speed.
The accident resulted in Al Tamimi’s death and the death of the Omani driver, Nasser Al-Kindi, a well-known mathematics teacher.
Al Tamimi’s daughter survived, while the wife, Fatima Al-Hashimi, sustained severe injuries, including broken ribs and lung lacerations and was hospitalised and remains under medical observation. Doctors advised against air travel for her at this time, preventing her from attending her husband’s farewell. The deceased’s son said, "I returned with my father’s body along with my sister, while my mother remains in Salalah receiving treatment. We hope doctors will allow her to return in the next two days once her condition stabilizes”. He clarified that the family will receive condolences until Thursday evening, in two periods: from 10am until Dhuhr prayer and from after Asr prayer until Isha prayer. The men’s condolence gathering will be held at a designated location in Mirdif, while women will be received at the deceased’s home in the same area, he added.
