Abu Dhabi Agriculture & Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) issued a decision administratively shutting down DESI BNP General Trading LLC in Abu Dhabi, which holds trade licence no. CN-4466121, for violating Law no. 2 for 2008 regarding food in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the legislation issued thereunder as well as for its danger to public health.
ADAFSA explained that the food control report stated that the administrative closure decision was taken due to the facility’s repeated violations of food safety and its failure to take effective corrective measures, thereby necessitating an instant measure to be taken to ensure food safety and consumers’ health.
ADAFSA affirmed that the administrative closure order would remain in effect until the facility corrects the violations and meets all the necessary requirements.
The administrative closure decision and detection of violations came as part of ADAFSA’s plan to strengthen the food safety system in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, ADAFSA said, noting that all facilities are subject to regular inspection to insure their compliance with the requirements, while focusing on proactive protection of consumers.
ADAFSA called on the public to communicate with it and report any violations and suspicions in any food establishment by calling the Abu Dhabi Government’s toll-free number 800555, enabling its inspectors to take the necessary action towards ensuring the safety of food for all members of society in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
