The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has announced a partial and temporary closure of the square next to the Holy Quran Complex in the Muwailih Commercial Area of Sharjah. This forms part of SRTA's ongoing efforts to maintain and develop the area, improving the efficiency of the traffic infrastructure and enhancing road quality.
The authority confirmed that the closure will begin on Sunday, August 3, 2025 and continue until Friday, August 22. It was noted that the work area would be limited to the perimeter of the square and that traffic would continue to flow on the remaining roads via alternative routes, which had been prepared in advance in coordination with the Sharjah Police and other relevant authorities.
SRTA explained that clear alternative routes had been identified to ensure traffic flowed smoothly during the closure. Signage had been installed at all surrounding site entrances and intersections to alert drivers and direct them to these routes. These measures aim to minimise the impact of the temporary closure and ensure that residents and visitors to the area can continue to move around smoothly.
The SRTA called on all road users to cooperate, adhere to traffic safety guidelines and follow on-site signage and digital maps, in order to avoid potential traffic congestion. It also reaffirmed its commitment to completing the project on time and to providing a safe and sustainable transport environment. The authority emphasised that this work forms part of its ongoing efforts to improve roads and enhance the efficiency of the transport network across the Emirate of Sharjah.
