Two engineering firms penalised for breaching professional ethics in Ras Al Khaimah

The Ras Al Khaimah Municipality, represented by the Urban Development Department, has suspended two engineering consulting offices for one year. This decision follows the discovery of serious violations of regulations, bylaws, and professional ethics. This initiative is part of an ongoing commitment to upholding the highest standards of quality and professional discipline, and to safeguarding the public interest and ensuring the safety of projects and the community.

This decision comes within a series of regulatory measures implemented by the municipality with the objective of ensuring that all stakeholders within the construction sector adhere to approved professional standards. The implementation of these measures is intended to safeguard the rights of owners and investors, whilst concurrently enhancing the efficiency and quality of consulting and engineering work within the emirate.

The municipality emphasised that it is continuously overseeing and checking engineering consulting offices, and that it will not tolerate any violations or irresponsible practices that negatively impact project quality or community safety.

The municipality also provided engineering consulting offices with specific guidance on the importance of adhering to all approved technical and organisational rules and regulations, maintaining professional ethics in their dealings, cooperating with engineering oversight teams, and responding transparently and seriously to their comments.
