Brigadier Ahmed Mohammed Al Marri, Director of the Community Protection and Prevention Department, explained that they received an appeal from a girl living abroad. She expressed her desire to communicate with her father, whom she had not met since birth due to family circumstances that had caused a rift between them lasting more than 35 years.
Instantly, a team from the Family and Community Issues Department was assigned to follow up on all relevant details. The team coordinated directly with the girl, ensuring that she was not required to take any measures that might hinder the meeting, such as securing a flight ticket, in order to facilitate her arrival and meeting her father. The team also made sure that the reception area was ready and that a number of social support experts and specialists were present to provide a safe and supportive environment for both parties.
Al Marri stressed that this meeting was the result of the ongoing efforts of the Sharjah Police General Command to support family stability and address social issues of a social and humanitarian nature.
