Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has implemented several vital road projects in Al Rahmaniyah, as part of its ongoing efforts to develop infrastructure, enhance quality of life, and improve mobility efficiency in the emirate. The projects were executed in response to the rapid population and urban growth witnessed in the area.
The works included the construction of a new roundabout connecting key axes, which contributes to smooth traffic distribution, positively impacting traffic flow and reducing congestion.
Additionally, two new lanes spanning 4.40 kilometres were implemented to accommodate the increasing traffic density, particularly in light of the urban expansion in the region.
The design of the roundabout and new lanes adhered to the highest safety and quality standards, including lighting, signage placement, and the provision of safe pedestrian crossings, ensuring a comfortable and secure travel environment for all road users. This also enhances investment opportunities in the area.
As part of the plan to improve access to Al Rahmaniyah, SRTA completed a direct entry and exit point from Emirates Road toward Al Rahmaniyah Centre, facilitating easier ingress and egress, reducing daily travel time for residents and visitors, and achieving better integration with the main road network.
The direct connection has enhanced traffic flow, especially during peak hours, and facilitated access to vital facilities, reflecting the authority’s commitment to providing integrated traffic solutions which meet the needs of various community segments. These projects align with the SRTA’s vision to develop an integrated, safe, and sustainable transport system which supports urban growth and meets residents’ needs, while adhering to the highest quality and safety standards.
